. 328 pages; spine faded and with white library numbers; title page inscribed "With the Author's Kind Regards". Library labels of Baptist Union of Scotland. From the preface it seems the author (located at Inveraven Bank, Perth) was a member of a group of which the majority were Paedobaptists and the minority Baptists, and therefore when he became convinced of Baptist views resigned so as not to disturb the harmony and peace of the church. There is a directory record of a Rev Peter W Grant at Inveraven Bank around 1897, yet it seems that a Rev Philip W Grant, previously a Baptist pastor in Darlington, lived at Inveraven Bank in 1874.
