Lacks page 83-84; pages 186-187 are difficult to read due to printing issues; the rest of the text is legible apart from parts of the bottom of the title page; several pages have "Henry Pinckney His Book" to a blank margin. George Carleton (1559-1628), Bishop of Llandaff and later Chichester, was a delegate to the Synod of Dort, and was educated under Bernard Gilpin at Houghton-le-Spring and at Oxford. He wrote a number of books. Recently rebacked, with endpapers replaced. Perhaps the leather binding may be from the 1700s.
