Aonio Paleario (1500-1570) was an Italian Reformer accused by the Inquistion and executed. In addition there are chapters on Bernardino Ochino, Peter Martyr Vermiglio, Academies and Learned men, Renée Duchess of Ferrara, Vittoria Colonna and Marc Antonio Flaminio. The author was Mary Young (d.1867 aged 77), daughter of John Strother Ancrum of Roxburgh, and widow of Robert Young (pastor of the Scots Church in London) (source - gravestone in English cemetery in Florence, recorded online).
